Dear Friends at 5C:
It is a unique Father’s Day celebration! Praise the Lord, our heavenly Father, for His everlasting love, since He not only gives our lives, but also provides for what we need in this life and beyond. Thanks to Catherine Li and Anderson Lin for their testimonies on Sunday, their stories are so touching that many of us shed tears while listening to their sharings. We are so grateful for what God provides through our fathers. Although earthly fathers are imperfect, sometimes may be even short of our expectations, but our heavenly Father never fails in His love and works out everything in our lives perfectly for a greater purpose. Finally, thanks to Brother Raymond for his tireless effort! Breakout rooms on Zoom work out nicely this time. It is so good to get in touch with our members in an intimate setting.
Last Saturday, a group of people including Raymond, Chris, Anderson and Bianca went to the church and tested our equipment for reopening on July 19. Everything went well, so we are on track to reopen the church according to our schedule. However, the COVID-19 is in the up-ticking trend around the country, so our team is carefully monitoring the virus spreading in the SLO community. Deacon board will meet again this Sunday after service to make a final assessment. Please pray for church leaders who are able to seek God’s guidance and make a wise decision accordingly. During this reopening process, our church will do everything possible to assure the safety and well-beings of our members. Stay Well and Stay Healthy!
Ministry Update:
- Virtual prayer meetings at 7:30pm Monday and Thursday.
- Pastor Chen’s virtual office hours, 10:00am-12:00pm every Friday.
- Chinese Sunday school (Pastor Chen) and English Sunday school (Anna Ho)
- “Bible Study Methods” continues at 9:30am on Sunday and a repeat lesson at 11:00am on Wednesday.
- Deacon board moves ahead with a plan to reopen the church, and will communicate with the congregation on July 5.
- Deacon board is reviewing the draft on the Good Samaritan Committee guideline.
- Pastor Ray is going to preach this Sunday. We look forward to the second message in his Genesis series

- Pray for the Coronavirus outbreak in the US and around the world.
- Pray for the physical and spiritual well-being of our church members.
- Pray for God’s protection for people who have to work outside home.
- Pray for Annie Shi-Mu’ sister who suffers Parkinson’s disease.
- Pray for Ed Sherman’s son Lane who undergoes treatment for brain cancer.

上週六,胡其建弟兄、蔡達文弟兄、林恩深弟兄和張西齡姐妹等人前往教會,對崇拜使用的設備進行了測試,以準備 7 月 19 日的教會重新開放。目前測試進展順利,因此我们將按原計劃回歸教會。但是,新冠肺炎目前在全國範圍內呈現上升趨勢,我們的團隊也正在認真監控 SLO 社區中病毒的傳播。執事會將於本週日崇拜後再次開會,以進行最終的評估。請為尋求上帝引導並據此做出明智決定的教會領袖們祈禱。在重新開放的過程中,教會將竭盡所能確保所有教會成員的安全和福祉。請大家保重。
事工更新:
