What a busy Sunday! After Sunday school and worship service, a group of people watches a documentary on Sunday night, which provides a solid argument against evolutionism. It is rare to see such an outstanding product in recent years. Thanks to Anderson for introducing this film to our church!
On Sunday the deacon board also holds a meeting briefly to discuss the church reopening plan. In terms of the COVID-19 situation in SLO county, the board recommends that our church will reopen indoor service once SLO moves to the orange tier, which may come as early as in two weeks according to Bianca’s estimate. The church will announce a detailed plan once the opportunity arises. Let us pray together for COVID-19 spread in the local area, we hope that the infection number holds steady as it is getting cooler during the wintertime.
On Friday, the small group “Goodness” meets for the last time to finish the study series. Thanks to Annie Shi-Mu for her faithful teaching! Group members have learned a great deal through studying together and they are well-equipped for leading other small groups. In the following weeks, our church plans to launch several small groups in order to meet the congregation’s spiritual needs during the pandemic. Please pray for church leaders who are under intensive preparation to mobilize our church ministry.
Thanks to church members for returning ballots on time! All three candidates (Bros. Raymond Wu, Chris Choi, and Sister Rachel Ma) are elected into the deacon office this year. Once again our members demonstrate their loyal support to the church ministry and their approval of church leadership who manages to navigate church ministry in midst of the pandemic. Please continue to pray for all the deacons as they will assume the new term next year.

- Virtual prayer meetings at 7:30 pm Monday and Thursday
- Pastor Chen will be in church office Friday and Saturday this week
- Chinese Sunday school (Anderson Lin) and English Sunday school (Chris Choi)
- Small Group “Love” will meet at 7:30 pm Sunday 10/18 through Zoom
- Pastor Ray will continue the Genesis sermon series this Sunday
- The deacon board decides that our church will reopen once SLO county moves to the orange tier
- The deacon board will hold an annual leadership meeting on Oct 24 (Saturday)

執事會也在週日召開了一個短暫會議,討論了教會重新開放的計劃。考慮到 SLO 縣的疫情情況,執事會建議一旦本縣落到橙色等級,我們將重新回歸教會。根據張西齡姐妹的預測,可能最早會在未來兩週內實現。一旦有開放的可能,教會將宣布詳細計劃。讓我們一起為我們所居住的 SLO 地區,新冠肺炎的傳播祈禱。冬天馬上就要到來,希望感染人數可以依然保持穩定下降的趨勢。
上週五,『良善』小組最後一次線上聚會,完成了他們的系列學習。感謝裴師母的忠實教導!小組成員一起學到了很多的東西,也已裝備好在未來帶領其他的小組。在接下來的幾週內,教會將籌備更多的小組,以滿足疫情期間弟兄姐妹的屬靈需求。請為正在積極推動教會事工的領袖們祈禱。
感謝教會會員們按時遞交選票!今年所有三名候選人(胡其健弟兄、蔡達文弟兄、馬若曦姐妹)均當選 2021-2022 年度執事。透過這次選舉,大家再次表達了對教會事工的支持,並認可在疫情期間中努力推動教會事工的領袖們。請繼續為所有明年就任的執事們禱告。
