Day 3 Part 2, Genesis 1:11-13: 1st Life: Grass, Herbs & Trees
“And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, & the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: & it was so (Gen 1:11). & the earth brought forth grass, & herb yielding seed after his kind, & the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: & God saw that it was good. (Gen 1:12) And the evening & the morning were the 3rd day. (13)
The Word of Jesus has the same power over plants (Matt. 21:19-20) & nature (Mk. 4:37-41; John 2:7-11; 6:5-14, 18-21).
Evolutionists taught the early earth was like “Hell” 4 Billion years ago. God said it was a Paradise! They were teaching a Faith not Fact! Geologist Mark Harrison of UCLA admitted as much: “There is absolutely not a single scrap of observational evidence that requires that (hellish) scenario ever took place. We as a scientific community created an origin myth that has no more intellectual value than 1 Genesis.”

A fairy tale is a fairy tale even if it’s made up by PhD scientists: [give us enough time, & chance will turn a rock into a prince!]. But God was an Eyewitness to the Events of Genesis 1 He inspired Moses to write.
I. Man’s Scientific Myths & Biased Deceptions on the Origin of Life
Contrary to evolutionary theories (Origin Myths of man) God reveals life first forms on Land not in water (Gen. 1:11-12).
Evolutions Dilemmas with the Origin of Life
Life cannot start with oxygen! (It destroys organic molecules)
Life cannot start without oxygen! (It’s needed to produce energy). It’s very unlikely Life could start in the Oceans? WHY? Because “Oxygen is a poisonous gas that oxidizes organic and inorganic materials…; it is quite lethal to organisms that have not evolved protection against it. There is no scientific proof that Earth ever had a non-oxygen atmosphere such as evolutionists require” [Peter Ward and Donald Brownlee, Rare Earth, 2000, p. 245]. ORIGINS SCIENCE REQUIRES SUPERNATURAL INTERVENTION!

Many Atheist Scientists have their own unique Religious Faith.
“Life arose here on earth from inanimate matter, by some kind of evolutionary process four billion years ago. This is not …demonstrable fact, but an assumption almost universally shared… It is not supported by any direct evidence” [Franklin M. Harold, The way of the Cell, 2001, p. 236]. He holds to his faith despite the Fact the Known Laws of Science Contradict this faith of evolutionists! The LAW of Biogenesis – proved by Louis Pasteur, makes it clear life can only come from life!
Neil Campbell admits: “Life cannot arise by spontaneous generation from inanimate material today, so far as we know, but conditions were very different when Earth was only a billion years old. In that ancient environment, the origin of life was evidently possible…& biological inception were inevitable” [see his faith!] [“Biology” 1987, pg. 504].
Do you see the irrationality Common in the “Soft” Sciences? When something contradicts his Materialistic world view, he contradicts the scientific law rather than accept supernatural intervention (God) as a possible explanation. He puts his ‘faith’ in his religion of atheistic ‘naturalism.’ We put our faith in the Revelation of the Creator (Heb. 11:3)
The Conflict is between Theistic & Atheistic Worldviews Not between True Science & Biblical Faith: Creationists & Evolutionists accept the same ‘facts’ but interpret them through a different world view.
How Did unimaginably complicated Life Start?
THERE ARE ONLY TWO POSSIBLE ORIGINS FOR LIFE:
1. Life was Created Supernaturally 2. Life evolved by natural processes
Francis Crick, the discover of DNA, applied the science of probability to the possibility of DNA evolving by chance. His results: No chance! Many Scientists acknowledge the impossibility of Life originating by natural processes & chance. “The likelihood of life having occurred through a chemical accident is, for all intents & purposes, zero.” [Robert Gange, Ph.D., Origins and Destiny, 1986, p. 77.]
Is there any Chance Life Originated by Chance? “The simplest living cell could not have arisen by chance.” [Johnjoe McFadden, Quantum Evolution, 2000, p. 85]. Dean H. Kenyon wrote a textbook: “Biochemical Predestination” (1969) After realizing the weakness of his theories (1976) he came to believe in the need for a Creator & became a young earth creationist & part of the Intelligent Design Movement!
Without God you can never Know the true Origin of Life.

Logical Deduction: Life began Supernaturally (Genesis 1:1)
“Many investigators feel uneasy about stating in public that the origin of life is a mystery, even though behind closed doors they freely admit they are baffled. …they worry that a frank admission of ignorance will undermine funding” [Paul Davies, Ph.D. Physics, The 5th Miracle: The Search for the Origin and Meaning of Life, 1999, p. 18]. (read what God days about such antics: I Tim 6:10; Lk 12:1-3; John 8:32). We must be aware of the reality of the spiritual warfare in “the Sciences.” Satan’s Goal is to rob us of our Exceptional Purpose as Human beings & our Glorious & Eternal Hope as Redeemed Sinners! Beware of subtle deceptions of Scientists with a biased pre- commitment to Atheism or materialism. They often present “soft” science as “Hard” science without explaining the difference to the average person.
II. The Eternal, Omnipotent, Omniscient God’s Revelation on the Origin of Life
Life Begins with The Miracle & Glory of Plant Life! Learning God’s Life Changing Wisdom from Creation makes life a whole lot more meaningful & interesting! “Speak to the earth, & it shall teach thee…
(9) Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this? (Job 12:8-9; Jer. 10:12; Prov. 3:19-20). Jesus, as Divine Wisdom (Prov. 8 esp. vs. 22-31; I Cor. 1:24, 30) Designed life changing lessons into His Creation (Rom. 1:19-20). When Solomon was Gifted Divine Wisdom: “…he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall… And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon” (I King 4:29-34; 10:23-24; 2Chron. 1:10-12; Prov. 2:6; Eccl. 2:26; Jam 1:5).
George Washington Carver said: “I love to think of Nature as a broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we only will tune in.” He made 200 products from Peanuts & 100 from sweet Potatoes & Blessed the World!
How can we have Plant life (Day 3) without the Light of the Sun (Day 4)! It’s a special Light (Isa. 60:19-20; I Tim. 6:14-16; I John 1:5; Ps. 84:11) that gives life in the New Heavens & Earth where there will be plants without the Sun once again! (Rev. 21:23; 22:2). Many people with near death experiences seem to have seen this “glorious light”
Seven Divine Purposes for Plants: 1. Protect soil from erosion.
2. Provide countless creatures homes (Ps. 104:16-18). 3. Provide man materials for building. 4. Smorgasbord of food for all living creatures (Gen. 2:9; Ps. 136:25). 5. Plants Given to us for Medicine (Ezek. 47:12; Rev. 22:2). 6. Photosynthesis cleans the air & supplies Oxygen & Food. 7. Plants take their place in the Water cycle to make life possible!
Some Spiritual applications (2 Cor. 9:10-11; Isa. 55:10-11; Ps. 1:3).
Plants Reveal God to be an Artistic & Mathematical Genius:The Mathematical beauty, efficiency & perfection in Plants, reveals an amazing Designer; not the result of random processes. Plants Reveal God to be the most Amazing Architect ever! Wheat 4ft. High; 1/16 inch diameter is like a building 1,250 ft high with a foundation only 1 square yard! Plants Reveal God to be the Greatest Nutritionist! They supply complete diets for every living species & reproduce themselves!
Plants Give us Empirical Evidence Evolution Never Occurred
Living Fossils – show fossils supposedly 100’s of millions yrs. old are unchanged from Plants living today. Plants refute Evolution as you cannot produce scientifically sound evolutionary Trees for the Plant kingdom. The 250,000 Angiosperm species Reproduce Sexually! They need Pollinators to reproduce. So some miraculous unknown mechanism caused 250,000 species to evolve both male & female organs by chance simultaneously with 25,000 species of Bees & 750 species of Butterfly???
It’s more rational to believe in an Omnipotent, Omniscient Creator!
ETERNAL WISDOM DESIGNED INTO THE PLANT KINGDOM:
Jesus Proved He’s Creator with a fruit Bearing Plant! Jesus’ works prove He is the Creator God! (John 10:37-8; 14:9-11). His 1st miracle was turning water into wine. A process normally accomplished by the Vine seed growing in the earth & bearing fruit. Jesus does it in an instant! (Joh 2:1-11). Same as God creating plants bearing fruit on Day 3!
THE RESURRECTION IS DESIGNED INTO GOD’S CREATION!
Jesus referred to himself as a grain of wheat: “The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. (24) Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground & die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” (John 12:23-24). Jesus is the true “corn of wheat” rising out of the Earth on the 3rd Day to give eternal life to all who believe in Him! (Isaiah 53:2; Gen. 1:11-13). Each of Us Must ‘be Planted’ to fulfill God’s Purpose (Lk. 9:23-6; Matt. 16:24-26).
My Eternal Hope is revealed in the Divine Design of seeds.
Some say: “How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? (35) Thou fool, that which thou sowest [the seed] is not quickened, except it die: (36) and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain: (37) But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased Him, & to every seed his own body” (I Cor. 15:35-38).
Every tiny insignificant seed must be buried in the ground before it can rise in the Glory of its full blooming flower! Every seed, every flower, whispers to me: “There is glorious life after death!” Don’t let atheist scientists rob you of Your Eternal Glory in Christ. 1John 3:1-3 reveals God’s Purpose & what you need to do to prepare.
