There is clearly a supernaturally inspired symmetry between Genesis & Revelation. So many things that have their beginning revealed in Genesis find their Divinely planned end, fulfillment, & consummation in Revelation. How amazingly these two books fit together! And they were written 1500 years apart. We can understand how this historic literary wonder came to be when we understand the relationship between God and the two men God used to write down these two revelations. Moses wrote The Book of Genesis. How? God “spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend” (Ex. 33:11; Num. 12:6-8; Deut. 34:10). So Genesis is written exactly the way God wanted us to have it. The Apostle John wrote the Book of Revelation. How? “The Revelation of Jesus Christ was sent by God and communicated by his angel unto His servant John” (Rev. 1:1; 22:16). John both “saw and heard” the things he wrote down (Rev. 1:11; 22:8). The Angel apparently approved every word of the final written copy (Rev. 22:10) for the Angel then warned us not to add unto it or take away from “the words of the book” (Rev. 22:18-19). So Revelation is written exactly the way God wanted us to have it.
As with any book, how the story ends is the most crucial and compelling part. That is why God declared “the End” from “the beginning” (Isaiah 46:10; 41:22-23; Acts 15:18; Eph. 1:9-11). Knowing how everything will end enables us to live with Eternity in mind (2 Pet. 3:10-13).
Genesis reveals the history of humanity’s origins & Revelation the History of humanity’s end. Thus God gives us a profound understanding of two of the most important questions in life. Our origin – “Where did we come from?” & our destiny – “where are we going?” I learn why I must make my choice as to what kind of Eternity I will experience. I must choose between a glorious eternity in the New Heaven & Earth or an eternity of torment in the lake of fire. These two divinely inspired Books enable me to make a wise decision concerning my eternal future!

Genesis begins Scripture by bridging the gap from eternity past into our three dimensional world of time/space existence (Heb. 11:3). Revelation transitions us out of our three dimensional world of time/space back into eternity future. In these two supernaturally inspired Books we have the most complete, rational & satisfactory explanation for all the evil in the World and how our Good, Sovereign, Creator God will eventually “wipe away all tears from our eyes” and eliminate death, sorrow, crying, and pain FOREVER! (Rev. 21:4)
The Law (our schoolmaster unto Christ), the prophetic types (shadows of Christ), the history (His-story), and the prophecies (concrete verifiable predictions of Christ), unfold and develop the same unified truth, until they all arrive at last at their New Testament fullness (Eph. 1:9-14). And so when we come to the consummation of Redemptive History Revealed in the Book of Revelation we find the final answers to the perplexing questions that we all have as a result of living in the fallen suffering world that began with Adam’s sin & continues with ours.
The only people who would not believe that we have here an inspired Word of God from outside our time domain are those who have already pre-determined they will not believe in God and His Word no matter what (Rom. 1:19-21). Many people deeply resent the books of Genesis & Revelation because they would resent anyone who tried to expose their sin and the tragic future it will bring if they don’t repent of it (John 3:19-20). No one can have a correct and healthy attitude toward life, the future, and eternity without a proper knowledge & understanding of these two Books in the Bible (2Tim. 3:16-7). As you study Genesis & Revelation remember our biggest problem will not be to understand but to just believe what God has said (John 11:40)
“Jesus said people “err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God” (Matt. 22:29; Mk. 12:24). Notice Jesus didn’t say: “Ye do err, not knowing enough of the latest science.” The two most important Books of the Bible, Genesis & Revelation have been under serious attack for a long time. Both by liberal unbelieving ‘Christian’ scholars within the church (2Pet. 2:1-3) & atheistic ‘scientists’ using ‘soft science’ to destroy our faith in God’s inspired, inerrant Word (I Tim. 6:20-21). Ask yourself: “Did God speak to those liberal scholars ‘face to face’ like he did to Moses?” (Ex. 33:11; Num. 12:6-8; Isa. 41:22-23). “Were those liberal scholars omniscient like our LORD Jesus?” Of course not! They are deceived & Damned for rejecting God’s Truth (2Thess. 2:10-12; Jer. 14:14-5; 23:25-32; 29:8-9). Because of the infallible nature of God’s revelation through Moses He warns us: “Why then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?” (Num. 12:8).
Be cautious of imaginative “theories” of fallible atheistic ‘scientists’ who reject God’s infallible revelation to Moses (2Tim. 3:8-9, 13-16; Col. 2:8; Lk. 16:27-31). “A Little Science estranges men from God, but much science leads them back to Him” (Louis Pasteur). We must distinguish the “little science” that comes from the biased public media, or ‘theories’ of biased ‘scientists’ with predetermined ‘materialistic,’ or ‘atheistic’ agendas…From proven “Truth” that never contradicts God’s Word. It helps us a lot to distinguish between Empirical Sciences & Historical Sciences:
Empirical, operational, or process Sciences (Hard science) help protect against deception because they can be objectively tested & proven to a high degree of statistical certainty. Such are much of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Engineering, Microbiology, etc [these involve reproducible Experiments]. Such science gave us technology, modern medicine, electronics, aviation & engineering. These discoveries are built on principles that we can test & use in experiments – IN THE PRESENT
Historical, forensic, or origins Sciences (Soft science): some Geology, anthropology, evolutionary Biology [Often relies on untestable assumptions!] i.e. “age of the earth; man & apes evolved from a common ancestor; vestigial organs, etc.” It Involves working out what happened IN THE PAST. Historical Science is severely limited because we cannot repeat, experiment on, or observe past events. So Scientists make inferences based on assumptions. Speculation & pre-existing beliefs play a major role in the interpretation of data & impacts conclusions. Thus Scientists who reject God or are pre-committed to ‘scientism’ or ‘materialism’ will be led astray by their worldview & lead us astray! (Rom. 1:19-22; Ps. 14:1; 53:1; Prov. 1:7).
Almost all the Conflicts between Science & Religion occur in [soft] historical science not in [hard] Empirical science! Science doesn’t really say anything – scientists do! Often they are biased by their worldview. Whether it’s ‘hard’ or ‘soft’ science Universally accepted Scientific Facts are often proven wrong in 1 generation. Samuel Arbesman in The Half-Life of Facts reveals the pattern of decay of facts in all major scientific disciplines. After 50 years only 25% of scientific articles were still considered fully factual. The empirical sciences have been proving many assumptions (educated guesses) of the soft sciences to be wrong! In the book Mathematical Challenges to the Neo-Darwinian Interpretation of Evolution, edited by Paul S. Moorhead, Engineers with ‘hard’ statistics showed Darwinian evolution could not work!
God has Incredibly Fine Tuned the Universe for Life! The Hard Sciences discovered over 150 Parameters necessary for Life! Irrefutable “Hard” evidence for DESIGN. Design requires a Designer! That is the conclusion of a sound rational mind!
