Genesis 1:20-23 Day 5: GOD CREATES SEA LIFE & FOWL
“And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature (Heb. = living soul) that hath life, & fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. (21) & God created great whales, & every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, & every winged fowl after his kind: & God saw that it was good. (22) & God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, & multiply, & fill the waters in the seas, & let fowl multiply in the earth. (23) & the evening & the morning were the 5th day” (Gen. 1:20-3)
When Solomon was Gifted Divine Wisdom “…he spake of beasts, & of fowl, & of creeping things, & of fish” (I King 4:33) whose creation by God is revealed in Genesis 1. “And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon” (I King 4:29-34; 10:23-24; 2Chron. 1:10-12)
Wise people still seek God’s wisdom from Nature. We call it Biomimicry. We can access God’s Life changing Wisdom (Jam. 1:5). But we must distinguish the imperfect wisdom of men (I Cor. 1:21; 2:12-15; Jam. 3:13-6) & the perfect wisdom of God (Prov. 8:12, 22-36; I Cor. 1:24). Both true knowledge & true wisdom begin with the “fear of the LORD” (Prov. 1:7; 9:10). The Wisdom of God is easily distinguished from the wisdom of men when it comes to “Sex in the Sea.” Most of 22,000 fish species; 170,000 invertebrates (jellyfish, anemones, sponges mollusks) Reproduce Sexually! Look at the Numbers & complexity! What Evolutionists want you to believe is more like irrational brain-washing than true Science! Their “Soft science” can’t convince a rational mind that some 200,000 different species simultaneously ‘evolved’ their incredibly complicated sexual apparatus of both male & female by mere “time & chance” without any intervention of any intelligence! Do you realize how preposterous & utterly impossible that is? (Romans 1:21-22).
The Truth God Reveals in Genesis lays the essential Foundation necessary for us to Believe every life changing Truth throughout the rest of God’s word! On Day 5 God Creates 2 Kinds of Living Creatures:
1. Every Living creature in the waters (salt water & fresh) emphasizing Great whales (Hebrew = tanniym) [dragons Ps. 74:13; Isa. 27:1; monster Lam. 4:3; serpent Ex. 7:9-10]. 2. Every winged fowl. Believe Genesis & Jonah is a ‘true Tale of a Whale’ instead of an ‘allegorical Whale of a Tale’ (Jonah 1:17; Matt. 12:39-41). Jonah & the whale is a simple problem of size: How big was Jonah & how BIG was the whale? The greatest miracle of Jonah was bringing about the repentance of Nineveh!! The greatest miracle we can do is lead someone to repentance & saving faith in God.
THE MYSTERY OF LIFE IN THE SEAS & AIR (Acts 14:15)!
What is Life? “Living” things 1st appear on Day 5. The Bible never describes plants as “living” (Day 3) but science labels plants as living (organic). Only the “Living God” can create Life! (Ps. 42:2; 84:2). Science struggles to define Life. “The Law of Biogenesis” (Life only comes from Life) Proves Life cannot arise from inorganic materials, by time & chance, as evolutionists would lead us to believe.
We must be aware of what ‘Glasses’ we are Looking through to interpret “Reality.” Our ‘glasses’ are known as our “world view.” The evolutionary world-view excludes God: there is no purpose, design or anything supernatural. The Conflict is between Theistic & Atheistic Worldviews not between True Science & Biblical Faith. Creationists & Evolutionists accept the same ‘facts’ but interpret them through a different world view.

How Did unimaginably complicated self reproducing Life Start?
Only 2 Possible Origins for Life: 1. Life was Created Supernaturally
2. Life evolved by natural processes: ‘spontaneous generation.’
There is a Major Problem with the Evolution of Cells & DNA: It’s absolutely impossible according to the known laws of science! (Robert Gange, Ph.D., Origins and Destiny, 1986, p. 77.) (Johnjoe McFadden, Quantum Evolution, 2000, p. 85) (Franklin M. Harold, The Way of the Cell, 2001, p 235). So “Origins Science” Requires supernatural Intervention! “The Law of Biogenesis:” a Law not a theory! Louis Pasteur in 1860 & Rudolph Virchow in 1858 proved by experimental evidence that life comes only from preceding life of its own type or kind. Observe the Irrationality of Evolutionists blinded to Truth by their ‘Materialistic atheistic’ Worldview: “I think a scientist has no choice but to approach the origin of life through a hypothesis of spontaneous generation… One has only to contemplate the magnitude of this task to concede that the spontaneous generation of a living organism is impossible. Yet here we are, as a result, I believe, of spontaneous generation.” (George Wald, “The Origin of Life,” Writing About Science, ed. Mary Elizabeth Bowen and Joseph A. Mazzeo, 1979, pp. 289-291).
God’s Word is still as scientifically accurate as the day it was written.
But Man’s theories of the origin of life are all disproven by Hard Empirical science! The best known attempt to prove Life evolved is the Miller-Urey Experiment but has been discredited as proof (Freeman Dyson, Origins of Life, 1999. pp. 25-26) also (Jonathan Wells, Icons of Evolution: Science or Myth?). Though discredited the Miller Experiment still appears in Textbooks, media & classrooms (2 Tim. 3:13; Eph. 5:6).
Evolutionists ‘believe’ despite lack of empirical evidence: “Evolution is unproved & unprovable. We believe it because the only alternative is special creation, & that is unthinkable.” (Arthur Keith, Evolution and Ethics, p. 230). “Evolution thus becomes the most potent weapon for destroying the Christian faith.” (Mattill, A. J., Jr., “Three Cheers for the Creationists,” Free Inquiry, vol. 2 (Spring 1982) p 17). Many People have Moral reasons for rejecting Creation:
“The reason we scientists all jumped at The Origin of Species was because the idea of God interfered with our sexual mores.” (Sir Julian Huxley 1975 T.V. interview, in Dr. James Kennedy, Solving Bible Mysteries, 2000, p. 103-104). A person’s morals often dictate their belief.

D.J. Futuyma, Science on Trial, (1983), p. 197 wrote: “Creation & evolution… exhaust the possible explanations for the origin of living things. Organisms either appeared on the earth fully developed… or they developed from preexisting species by some process of modification.
If they did appear in a fully developed state, they must indeed have been created by some omnipotent intelligence.”
The “Cambrian explosion” (540 to 488 mya) is a powerful refutation of evolution & confirmation of God’s revelation in Genesis 1.
Scientists acknowledge the facts support the Creation Model: “We find most of the major invertebrate groups in an advanced state of evolution, the very first time they appear. FOSSILS NEVER LIE BUT SOME SCIENTISTS DO!

So-called conflicts of science & the Bible are mostly caused by differing Worldviews. (Presuppositions). When we encounter seeming conflicts between Science & God’s Word, we understand now why it is wiser to Trust God & His Word than to trust in fallible men (Ps 118:8; Jer 17:5-7)
