Dear Friends at 5C:
It was wonderful to see some of you in person this weekend. As an arrangement from “Bible Study Methods” class, Becky Shi-Mu and Pastor Chen delivered ten copies of Bible Atlas that were purchased from Taiwan. For Bible reference in Chinese literature, it is rare to have such a high quality of works. Unfortunately the book is not easy to acquire in the US and the price tag also prevents many from having a personal copy to study (this book is sold over $100 in LA bookstore). Hope that our members will make good use of this resources for future Bible study. Praise the Lord that many members are still dedicated to studying God’s Word after meeting more than 20 weeks in this training class!
The church campus is very quiet, even on Sunday, SLONaz church holds a small gathering outdoors for Sunday worship. Currently our church is still meeting online, waiting for the further ease of the pandemic in SLO county. In case the congregation is ready to meet in the church, it is very likely that we will keep an online option for those who cannot join the congregation in person. Thanks to SLONaz church, they upgraded the WiFi equipment recently, so the internet connection in Student Union is quite reliable. Technically it seems feasible to provide stable signals for a live stream of Sunday service, but further study is needed before we operate in both online and in person formats.
A group of people is planning to have an outdoors gathering on Nov 1 after church service. Please note that this is a private gathering, not sponsored by the church. Your participation is totally voluntary. If you are interested, please contact Annie Shi-Mu for further information. Of course, all the participants will observe public health safety measures. Hope that everyone will enjoy the good weather, the delicious food and an intimate fellowship during this gathering.

- We will continue the sermon series “Guidance of the Holy Spirit” this Sunday
- The deacon board will hold an annual leadership meeting on Oct 24 (Saturday)
- A group of brothers and sisters plans to get together again outdoors on Nov 1.
- The deacon board decides that our church will reopen once SLO county moves to the orange tier

親愛的中岸教會朋友們:
非常高兴上周末能够和部份成員見面。作為“讀經法”課程的一部分,陳牧師和師母將從台灣訂購了十本聖經地圖集帶到教會。在所有中文的聖經參考文獻中,很少有如此高質量的作品。不過這本書在美國不容易買到,且價格昂貴,一定程度上影響了推廣(這本書在洛杉磯書店的售價超過一百美元)。希望大家能在未來的聖經學習中,充分利用這些資源。感謝主,經過 20 多個星期培訓,大家在這次課程中依然興致勃勃地學習神的話語!
教會園區非常安靜,即使在周日,拿撒勒人教會也只有小型的室外聚會。目前,我們的教會仍保持線上聚會,以等待 SLO 縣疫情的進一步緩解。即使大家準備好在教會崇拜,我們也很可能繼續保留線上聚會,以方便那些無法親自來到教會的成員。感謝拿撒勒人教會,他們最近才升級了無線網絡設備,因此教會禮拜地方的網絡信號相當不錯。從技術上講,週日直播似乎是可行的。但是這種線上和線下同步進行的方式,還有待進一步研究。
有些兄弟姐妹計劃在週日 11 月 1 日下午 3 點在禮拜後舉行戶外的私人聚會。再次聲明,這並非教會組織活動,大家自願參加。如果您有興趣參與,請聯繫裴師母以獲取更多信息。當然,參與者都將遵守公共健康的安全措施。希望每個人在聚會期間都能享受好天氣、美食和親密的團契時光。
