Rev. Dr. Raymond P. Petzholt graduated from the S.U.N.Y. at New Paltz, New York in 1973 with a B.A. in Biology and Psychology. He was born again when he met Jesus in August 1973 while hitchhiking on his way to Guatemala. He spent the next several years doing missionary work in Latin America and Israel until 1977 and learned Hebrew and Spanish.
He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas on May 9, 1980 and married Annie An-tse Hoh the next day. They pastored a Spanish speaking church until they went to Taiwan from 1982-1985 where Ray and Annie taught at Christ Discipleship Training Center, which was a completely indigenous work founded by Elder Wu Yung.
Ray Graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2000 with a Doctor of Ministry Degree. His Doctoral Dissertation was: “China’s Ancient Monotheistic Roots in Shang Ti and Its Importance for the Evangelization of the Chinese.”
Ray and Annie have pastored Templo Emanuel in Fort Worth, TX; Pipeline Ave. Baptist Church in Chino, CA; Mandarin Baptist Church of Pasadena (later renamed Arcadia Chinese Baptist Church) in Arcadia, CA; and they now serve at Central Coast Chinese Christian Church in San Luis Obispo. They have two adult married children, Jeremiah James and Faith Victoria and four grand-children: Annabelle, Nathaniel, Josephine Wu, and Grace Petzholt.
